29 September is world heart health day. It can be an annual reminder to do your annual lipid profile test. According to the World Health Organisation, cardiovascular disease or heart disease is the number one cause of death globally.

Cholesterol can build up in the arteries and limits the blood flow to the heart and the brain and cause heart attacks and strokes.  To reduce your cholesterol levels especially the LDL levels often referred to as the bad cholesterol, it is advisable to increase your omega oil intake.  Good food sources are oily fish like salmon and tuna.

Research found that rooibos significantly improved the lipid profile in adults at risk of developing cardiovascular disease. A good reason to drink the recommend six cups of Rooibos tea a day.
